Abu Dhabi consumer prices up an average 0.8pct in 2009

Consumer prices in Abu Dhabi, the largest sheikhdom in the United Arab Emirates, rose an average 0.8 per cent in 2009, the Abu Dhabi statistics center said. Prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel products increased, the center said in an e-mailed statement today. This is the first year that the center has collected inflation data for Abu Dhabi and no 2008 figure was given.
