Acibadem Saglik Hizmetleri & Ticaret AS, Turkey’s largest hospital chain, said its owner Acibadem Saglik Yatirimlari Holding AS applied to the market regulator to make a call to buy shares from minority shareholders in its unit.

Acibadem Holding controls 92 per cent of Acibadem Saglik Hizmetleri via Almond Holding AS, Acibadem Saglik said in a statement to the Istanbul Stock Exchange after the market closed yesterday.

Acibadem Holding’s 75 per cent stake was sold to Integrated Healthcare Holdings Sdn Bhd and Bagan Lalang Ventures Sdn Bhd of Malaysia’s Khazanah Nasional Bhd, on January 24.

United Arab Emirates’s Abraaj Capital Ltd and Turkey’s Aydinlar family sold the 75 per cent stake and Chairman Mehmet Ali Aydinlar and family kept the remaining 25 per cent stake in Acibadem Holding. The transaction valued Acibadem Saglik at $1.68 billion, the companies said December 23.
