Barclays to hire ex-BNP's Asia property team

Barclays Capital will hire the former Asia real estate team of BNP Paribas, sources said on Wednesday, as BarCap builds out its investment banking group across the region.

The BNP team, headed by James Lim, consisted of about five members including director James Nagaya, the sources said, adding that the team would join Barclays in coming months. The team joined BNP late in 2008 from Lehman Brothers. One of the sources said the team had resigned from BNP at the end of March. Barclays Capital declined comment. The sources were not authorised to speak publicly about the matter.
