Barclays Plc hired Ryan Mash from Bank of America Corp to head retail mergers and acquisitions at the investment bank that advised on $15 billion of deals in the industry last year.
Mash, who had the same job at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, will join Barclays in July, the London-based bank said today in a statement. He will be based in New York and report to Gary Posternack, head of M&A in the Americas, the company said. The firm’s Barclays Capital unit has advised on $75bn in deals this year, capturing 12 per cent of the M&A market, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. Mash advised on more than $30bn in retail transactions during his 12 years at Merrill Lynch, Barclays said in the statement. His clients included Limited Brands Inc. and Macy’s Inc, Barclays said.
