China power generating capacity may double by 2020

China’s power generating capacity may almost double to 1,600 gigawatts by 2020 from 880 gigawatts at the end of this year, State Grid Corp of China said in an e-mailed statement today. The nation’s capacity to generate electricity using renewable energy may exceed 150 gigawatts by 2020, State Grip Corp said.
