China's Chery Auto 2010 exports to more than double year ago

Exports by China's Chery Automobile Co will exceed 100,000 units this year, more than double the year-ago level, its chairman said on Thursday.

In August, Chery sold 10,360 vehicles overseas in August, up more than two times the year-ago period, and accounting for 40 per cent of China's overall passenger car exports for the month.

Yin Tongyao made the comments in an interview with Reuters on the sidelines of an industry event in the southwestern city of Chengdu on Thursday.

Yin also said the company had no timetable for a public listing but added it would definitely not seek an IPO this year.

"We are not in a hurry to go public," Yin said. "We have plenty of cash in hand, and also the stock market is not so good this year."
