Cocoa fell to an eight-month low in London before new crops in West Africa may add to supplies. The Ivory Coast and Ghana, the world’s largest growers, usually start the bigger of two harvests in October. Cocoa for September delivery fell 7 pounds, or 0.3 per cent, to £2,070($3,229) a metric tonne at 9:48 a.m. local time on the NYSE Liffe exchange, the lowest price for that contract since November 20. The premium for the September contract narrowed to 32 pounds over the December contract, down from a peak of 197 pounds last month, indicating slowing demand or increased supplies.
