International Copper Association sees rise of copper consumption in the Gulf countries to about six million tonnes by 2020. ICA's Principal Consultant Ravinder Bhan, whose mission is to promote the use of copper as a sustainable energy element in various sectors, says in 2009 the region used 960, 000 tonnes, mostly on ongoing projects estimated at $1 trillion.
