Egypt's Alexandria Cotton Exporters' Association (Alcotexa) committed to sell 1,600 tonnes of cotton in the week that ended on Feb. 27, an Alcotexa official told Reuters on Sunday. The sales comprised 25 tonnes of Giza 70, 1,500 tonnes of Giza 86, 25 tonnes of Giza 87 and 50 tonnes of Giza 88, the official said. The deal brings Alcotexa's export commitments for the 2009/10 season, which began in September, to 57,833.3 tonnes of cotton worth $130.2 million, the official said.
