Dubai-based English business newspaper Emirates Business 24/7 will cease to publish a print version and be made available exclusively online by mid-July, local media have quoted Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI), the paper’s publisher as saying on Wednesday. The media, quoting a DMI statement said the “digital version of the newspaper will be developed to provide quick information and analysis in various domains.”
The report, however, did not mention if a restructuring of the Emirates Business 24/7 staff will be in place following the shift from print to online. An earlier report hinted at a possible bleak future awaiting the beleaguered newspaper, which was previously managed by Arabian Media Group (AMG), but was transferred to DMI late last year. Other AMG portfolio such as the Arabic paper Emarat Al Youm, Masar Printing and Publishing Company and Noor Dubai Radio and TV were also handed over to DMI.
