HSBC Amanah, the Islamic banking unit of HSBC Holdings Plc, said it is in talks with Qatar’s central bank after the regulator asked conventional banks in the country to stop offering Islamic banking services.
“HSBC Amanah is currently in discussions with the Qatar Central Bank to find a workable solution,” the company said in an e-mailed statement today, without giving further details.
