Hyundai Heavy Industries Co Ltd has won a 16 megawatt wind power project order from Finnish Power, the Korean company said on Wednesday.
The world's No1 shipyard said in a statement that it would supply eight 2 MW wind turbines for a wind power farm in Finland, construction of which is scheduled to be completed in April 2012. Hyundai Heavy is striving to diversify its business portfolio from offshore projects to renewable energy and has said it plans to boost annual manufacturing capacity for wind power to 800 MW by 2013 from 600 MW. Hyundai Heavy did not disclose the value of the deal.
