Hyundai Merchant reports operating loss in first quarter

Hyundai Merchant Marine Co said it posted an operating loss of 24.1 billion won in the first quarter from a profit of 6.17 billion won a year earlier. Sales dropped 2.8 per cent to 1.75 trillion won in the January-March period, the Seoul-based company said today in a regulatory filing today.
