India may allow sugar exports after Diwali festival

India, the world’s second-biggest sugar producer, may allow free exports of the sweetener after the Diwali festival on November 5, Farm Minister Sharad Pawar said today. India will “think about” sugar exports between November and February, Pawar told reporters in New Delhi.
