International Flavors names Douglas Tough CEO

Wednesday, 17 February 2010  at  08:19, Reuters, New York
International Flavors and Fragrances Inc said on Wednesday its nonexecutive chairman will become chief executive of the scent maker, effective March 1. Tough, who was widely expected to take the helm, will step down as chief executive of Australia-based protective clothing maker Ansell Ltd, where he has served since 2004. Tough has served as nonexecutive chairman last October after then-Chief Executive Robert Amen abruptly left his position. Prior to Ansell, Tough spent 17 years at Cadbury Schweppes, most recently as president and CEO of DrPepper/SevenUp's North American division. Tough, who has also worked at Procter & Gamble Co, holds duel citizenship in Canada and the United States. Shares of New York-based International Fragrances closed Tuesday at $42. They have traded between $24.96 and $42.90 in the past 52 weeks.
