Iraq has bought 60,000 tonnes of Thai rice to bolster supplies, a spokesman for the Iraqi Grain Board said on Tuesday. Amer Abdul-Aziz said the rice was bought after a tender which closed on Monday. Iraq is one of the world's biggest importers of rice and most of its purchases are used to supply a public food rationing programme.
