JPMorgan Chase & Co, the third- biggest merger adviser this year, hired UBS AG’s David Harrison to open an investment banking office in Calgary and to oversee coverage of Canadian energy companies. Harrison worked at UBS since 1995 with clients in the oil and gas, power, pipeline, chemicals and forestry industries, JPMorgan said in a statement today. JPMorgan agreed in February to buy the European and Asian operations of RBS Sempra Commodities, a joint venture of Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc and Sempra Energy, including units that deal in metals, oil, natural gas and power. Last year, it bought UBS’s commodities business in Canada.
