National Mobile Telecommunications Co surged to the highest intraday level since 2008 after the Kuwaiti company controlled by Qatar Telecom said first-quarter profit soared.
The shares rose 5.2 per cent to 2,020 fils, the highest since August 2008, at 9:01 am in Kuwait city. Net income rose to 285 million dinars ($1 billion) from 16m dinars in the year-ago period, according to a statement to the Kuwait bourse.
