Morgan Stanley, the sixth-largest US bank by assets, appointed Amr Diab and Klaus Froehlich as co-heads of investment banking for the Middle East and North Africa, according to a company memo obtained by Bloomberg News.
Diab joined Morgan Stanley in 1993 in New York and worked in the Middle East and North Africa investment banking division, according to the memo. Most recently, he was responsible for Egyptian and North African businesses at the bank, it said.
Froehlich started working for Morgan Stanley in 2000 on the German equity capital markets team. He was head of equity capital markets for Germany, Austria and Switzerland before moving to Dubai in 2009 to lead the global capital markets for the Middle East and North Africa, according to the memo.
A spokesman for Morgan Stanley, who declined to be identified in line with company policy, confirmed the appointments.
