Nigeria's Academy Press rises after jump in profit

Academy Press Plc, a Nigerian printer and publisher, rose to a six-month high in Lagos trading after it said first-half profit increased more than fourfold. The stock gained 24 kobo, or 5 per cent, to 5.15 naira, where it was trading at 11:10 am local time. A close at this price will be its highest since June 16, 2009, when it closed at 5.25 naira. Net income rose to 67.4 million naira ($408.026) in the six months through September from 16.7 million naira a year earlier, the Lagos-based company said in a statement to the Nigerian Stock Exchange today.
