The United Arab Emirates has given adequate support to the Gulf Arab state's financial system but stands ready to provide more if needed, an Abu Dhabi government official said on Tuesday.Mohammed Omar Abdulla, undersecretary of Abu Dhabi's department of economic development, made the remarks at a UAE investment conference.
Abdulla said the United Arab Emirates' government had supported the country's financial system in the wake of the global financial crisis in 2008."The federal government and Abu Dhabi has supported banks and will continue to give assistance as and when needed," he said. "But until now, support given is adequate and any further support will be seen and given to the financial system."
