As Congress works on US healthcare reform bills, President Barack Obama has used public events to press for enactment of reform measures sooner, not later.
Obama was to discuss healthcare Wednesday in the White House Rose Garden.
Meanwhile, House Democrats announced a plan Tuesday that would impose a surtax on the richest US taxpayers to underwrite much of the cost for expanding the nation's healthcare system, The Washington Post reported Wednesday.
