Saudi Arabia is studying wind, geothermal and solar power as new energy sources, Ahmad Al Khowaiter, Saudi Aramco’s director of new business evaluation, said on Tuesday in Manama, Bahrain.
Saudi Arabia aims to meet as much as 10 per cent of its electricity demand from the sun by 2020, he said. The kingdom may use as much as 6 million barrels a day of oil by 2030 in a business-as-usual scenario, he said.
