Sinopec finds potential gas field in Sichuan’s Yuanba

China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation has discovered a potential natural gas field in Sichuan’s Yuanba, the company said in an e-mailed statement today. Sinopec’s exploration units found reserves estimated at 940,000 cubic metres per day at the Yuanba-103H well and 1.36 million cubic metres a day at Yuanba-92 well, the company said in the statement. The company started exploration at Yuanba in 2006 and has found 875.3 billion cubic metres of “third-class geological reserves” in that block, it said. Sinopec will work quickly to verify the reserve, it said.
