Sony Corp reached an agreement to sell its movies to Redbox Automated Retail LLC, the kiosk vendor that offers self-service DVD rentals for $1 each in grocery stores and fast-food outlets.
The multi-year agreement will put Sony Pictures new releases, direct-to-video and catalog titles in more than 17,000 Redbox vending machines at locations including McDonald’s Corp. restaurants and Wal-Mart Stores Inc., Culver City, California- based Sony said today in an e-mailed statement.
