Toyota may supply Daimler with hybrid parts

Toyota Motor Corp, Japan's largest automaker, is in talks to supply Daimler AG with parts and technology for hybrid vehicles, a local newspaper reported on Thursday.

Toyota has said it is open to sharing its hybrid technology with other automakers to reduce production costs.

It most recently signed an agreement to supply core hybrid parts to Mazda Motor Corp.

Toyota spokesman Keisuke Kirimoto said the company does not comment on individual negotiations.
