The United Arab Emirates' armed forces said on Tuesday it will buy two Saab 340 early warning aircraft, in a deal worth €148.3 million ($220.9 million). The UAE armed forces, which have also purchased 25 training aircraft from Switzerland's Pilatus, made the announcement at the Dubai Air Show. Saab became a separate company in 1990 after its passenger car division was split off into a separate company in a joint venture with General Motors. The US carmaker sold the brand earlier this year.
