World Heart Surgery team's mission in Bosnia a success

The humanitarian, therapeutic, surgical training and preventive mission successfully concluded in Bosnia in which the Emirates World Heart Surgery team conducted open-heart surgeries to needy patients. Senior physicians and surgeons participated in the week long visit of the team which took place under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region, Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Authority.

Chief executive of the Emirates World Humanitarian Mobile Hospital and head of the Emirates Mobile Cardiology Centre Dr Adel Al-Shamri, said that the total number of open - heart surgeries carried out were 60, in which 5 of them were rare cases, in addition to 50 cardiac catheterization. A heart surgeon from France Professor Olver Jakdin President of the Heart Centre hospital in Lyon university and member of the Emirates World Heart Surgery medical team expressed his thanks to the Ministry of Health and medical staff of Bosnia for their cooperation with the UAE Medical team that helped in facilitating the mission with tremendous results.
