World stainless steel output rose to 7.47 million metric tonnes in the first quarter, 55 per cent more than a year ago and “almost the highest ever volume for the first three months of a year,” the International Stainless Steel Forum said in a report on its website.
West European and African production advanced 57 per cent to 2.07 million tonnes, while Chinese output added 38 per cent to 2.44 million tonnes, the ISSF said.
