Zinc and aluminum advanced in Shanghai on concern about supply disruptions in China, the largest producer of both metals. Copper in Shanghai also gained.
Zinc for February-delivery on the Shanghai Futures Exchange rose as much as 2.1 per cent to 20,935 yuan a tonne, the highest price since January, before trading at 20,850 yuan by 9:04 am in Singapore. January-delivery aluminum gained as much as 1.3 per cent to 16,770 yuan a tonne, the highest level since April.
