Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Company (Gasco) and Abu Dhabi Gas Liquefaction Company (Adgas) are assessing bids for onshore work on their multibillion dollar integrated gas development (IGD).
Firms submitted bids for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts on 7 July, and sources close to Gasco that they were opened in the presence of the emirate's central tenders committee on 9 July. Results are yet to be announced.
"They have opened the bids, but they won't say who the low bidders are yet," says a source at one firm involved in the bidding process. "It will probably be another week before we get a conclusive result."
"We hope that they will do it quickly, so that there isn't any lag when people start going away for holidays" says a senior executive at another firm.
The IGD project covers the production and transfer of more than 700 million cubic feet a day (cf/d) of high-pressure gas from the offshore Umm Shaif and Khuff reservoirs to new onshore processing facilities at Habshan and Ruwais via Das island.
